Trading calculators
Eight calculators that use the same Standard, Bronze, Silver and Gold account parameters as published on the account types page. All calculations run in your browser: no data is sent anywhere. Spread, swap and quote values are for reference only.
Pip value
Pip value = (pip size ÷ quote) × contract size × volume. Switch from EUR/USD to USD/JPY without changing the volume: the same number of pips means a different amount of money.
Position size
Volume = (deposit × risk%) ÷ (stop in pips × pip value). First the stop based on chart structure, then the volume.
Margin and stop out
Margin = (volume × contract × quote) ÷ leverage. Margin level = (equity ÷ margin) × 100%. Leverage determines the margin; risk is determined by volume and the stop.
Swap
Swap = rate per lot × volume × nights. On Wednesday night a triple swap is charged (T+2 settlement). The Silver and Gold tiers receive a discount on negative swap.
Account comparison by trading costs
Costs = spread × pip value × volume + commission × volume. The table highlights the cheapest account type for your volume; remember that the account type also depends on your balance.
System expectancy
E = (Win% × average win in R) − (Loss% × average loss in R). A system with a 40% win rate and 1:3 R:R beats a system with a 70% win rate and 1:0.5 R:R.
Drawdown asymmetry
Required gain = drawdown ÷ (1 − drawdown). A 50% loss requires +100%.
Risk and reward
Minimum win rate = 1 ÷ (1 + R:R). Costs shift the break-even threshold.
40 equity curves of one system
Set the win rate, risk/reward ratio and risk per trade. The simulator runs 40 random series of trades and shows the spread of outcomes and drawdowns.
The position size calculator is built into the order window
The same formulas work in the WOCM terminal without manual input.
Risk warning. Price, swap and spread values are for reference only and must be replaced with the broker's actual data before publication. Trading CFDs carries a high risk of losing your capital.
